Re-aquainting Jenna & Christmas :)

Christmas Holiday "know me better"!

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Yikes! Where's the tea option? I am not a fan of hot chocolate, & I have never tried Egg Nog -- though I hear it is yummy! I LOVE Chai Tea at Christmastime!

2. Does Santa wrap the presents or just set them under the tree? When I was young, Santa always left one gift unwrapped -- & it was always a stuffed animal holding chocolate, because opening gifts without a chocolate orange is foreign to Jenna! (1 year Santa brought me a cookie jar full of chocolates MMM!!!!)

3. Colored or white lights on the tree/house? White, timeless.

4. Do you hang mistletoe? No, I forgot about mistletoe, but I will!

5. When do you put up your decorations? I was given the "ok" on November 1st, but the tree does not go up until Nov 25 :( .... but it was a compromise, I wanted to put it up Oct 25 :)

6. What is your favorite holiday dish? My Mom's cheese-ball & butternut Squash.

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? This may sound silly, but I was 17. My Mom had just re-married a wonderful man (Joe) and it was the first Christmas in years had felt like a family! I cannot remember what I got, but I remember hiking out into the woods to cut down a tree with a hand saw, baking dozens of sugar cookies and having to decorate every one with icing.

We played cards all night with homemade nuts & bolts, listened to Steven Curtis CHapmans Christmas CD (AMAZING if you have not heard it)... and everything about that Christmas was perfect for me. BUT... ask me this on Dec 26th of this year, and I will say this past Christmas because I have my husband & a third wonderful family to celebrate with!! I am so excited!!

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? When I realized our house does not have a chimney, and my Dad forgot to take one bite out of my cookies I left. HAHA, I think I was 5 or 6.

9. Do you open gifts on Christmas Eve? Just Pj's!

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? Lots of red & golds, white lights & of corse the tacky childhood ornaments, though I bought new balls this year! I also like to do a pinecone/garland theme all through the house.

11. Snow! Love or Dread it? SNOW SNOW SNOW!!!!!!!!!

12. Can you ice skate? No, I have not in years -- I would love to take a trip to the Ottawa Canal this year, so pretty in Feb!

13. Do you remember your favorite gift?Yes, my puppy.. Honey! I got her last year from Ry

14. What is the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Enjoying the reason for the season, Christ. Also, spending time celebrating with family & friends.

15. Favorite holiday dessert? EASY -- homemade cinnamon buns!

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Christmas Eve. My family head to the city in the morning and go out for a nice lunch (usually Red Lobster haha). After that we d a bit of last-minute shopping together, to kill time until it gets dark. After it gets dark we go for a drive around the neighborhoods to look at the houses lit up (we rate them 1-10). Then we make our way to Napanee to catch the Christmas Eve service, which always has a cheesy puppet show haha! The we head home, make lots of hot snacks, drink sparkling grapejuice, open our Pj's, model them and play cards until late late.

Oh... I am also a sleepy Christmas girl, I love to sleep in until 9 or so... and enjoy the morning.

17. What tops your tree? Ry & I have a gold star.

18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? HAHA - EVERYBODY will say give... and don't get me wrong, I love to shop and wrap and bless the people I love, but.. I have my own wish list too! hahaha

19. What is your favorite Christmas song? "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" - many artists do a fabulous job with this song, but my personal favorite is Jessica Simpson. "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let is Snow" by Micheal Buble is pretty too.. a runner-up!

20. Candy Canes? When I was little I loved them because they make a "J", but now I love to put them on the tree, bake with them...I had one to-night for dessert!
