
My New Years resolution this year was to drop chocolate (my most valued treat) & coffee (the only reason I wanted to get out of bed in the morning). It has been 22 days, and I feel GREAT! Now, I will admit, I had a chcocolate chip cookie, and a few drinks of a glass of chocolate milk, but they were an accident, I forgot about my resolutions. And the worst thing is, that the cookie was not even a gooey homemade chocolate chip cookie, is was one of those small chewy chips ahoy ones. BOO!! Anyways.. it has been a little tough at times (Ry constantly buying Reeses to tease me grrrr....) but I really feel great!
Especially with giving up coffee, I drink more water and lots more healthy teas -- my favorite being Tazo earl grey, and Tim Hortons green tea. I learned that as coffee has 99% caffeine, most teas (aside from orange pekoe) have about 34% caffeine, green tea sit at about 4%. This is such a breakthrough for me, as anybody that has even met me ... knows that coffee and I were soulmates for many years. This all began with a competition with Ry, he gives up Coke if I give up coffee and chocolate, and we are still tied right now ( as I screwed up twice, he asked for 2 cans of Coke, I said yes so I would not get made fun of).
Substituting coffee & chocolate for tea and different desserts (like SMOOTHIES) and strawberries, mmm.... I feel much healthier, and more energetic then ever!!!
Also... no more coffee breath!! And my teeth should be getting whiter now as well -

Oohh..I hate coffee!! But diet coke and I are really good friends!! Now, the chocolate girl----are you INSANE???? No, never , uh-uh!!
